EXOSAT observations of 1636-536.
Abstract
An EXOSAT observation of MXB 1636-536 in July 1983 detected 7 bursts with untypical rise and decay (e-folding) times, and found persistent flux steady over the 1st 12,000 seconds but gradually increasing over the remainder of the observation. Preliminary analysis reveals that the best fitting model to the persistent flux is a power law with a high energy cut-off, consistent with comptonization of soft photons by a hot plasma.
